Bilbo v.s Gollum Who will win in a riddle game bilbo or gollum? Bilbo Baggins is a hobbit who wanted to be left alone in peace and comfort. The Title of the book is The Hobbit by J.R.R Tolkien and the director is Peter Jackson. In the book a lonely hobbit lives by himself in a big hobbit hole. He is asked one day by the magnificent wizard Gandalf to come along with a group of 13 dwarves and they took plain old Bilbo on a adventure. On this journey he ends up being a leader and a great expert finding clues the dwarves missed. Two changes Jackson made was Gollum and his personality and who he is, also when they describe how he is feels when bilbo takes the ring from him, which are both ineffective for different reasons. One difference in the movie gollum has two personalities but in the book he would just answer himself. It was a good idea to change it because you don't have to have the same things the book because it would be boring. “He guessed as well as he could, and crawled along for a good way till suddenly his hand met what felt like a tiny ring of cold metal lying on the floor”(Tolkien 68). When bilbo gets up and crawls he's touching the floor and he feels the ring that is made of cold metal. He thought it was just a ring but the ring had powers. On the other hand, jackson It was a good change because the dwarves and gandalf knows he is a thief. Him stealing the ring when gollum drops it makes it move action packed because how everyone is going to town wonder what happens to bilbo since he stole the ring.
