Microsoft Windows is run on 75% of the worlds desktop computers. “On this day [November 20, 2015], the operating system which now runs on over 75% desktop computers worldwide made its debut, two years after the initial announcement.” (Microsoft Windows 1). In this statement, it is stated that Windows has been a huge success and made billions of dollars since its debut. This means that Microsoft’s success with its operating system has made them a lot of profit and continues to do so till this day. Over the 30 years of Windows, Microsoft has made 18 versions of Windows. “The way to be successful in the software world is to come up with breakthrough software, and so whether it 's Microsoft Office or Windows, its pushing that forward.” (Bill Gates) Basically, Windows is the most valuable software to Microsoft.
