The richest man alive, billionaire Bill Gates has been an inspiration to this generation. Not only did he create Microsoft, and the Xbox, but he is a philanthropist who is donating all his money to a good cause. Born on October 28, 1955 in Seattle Washington, William Henry Gates III (Bill Gates) grew up with his father William H. Gates Sr and his mother, Mary Maxwell in an upper middle-class family with two sisters. In 1994, Bill Gates married Melinda French Gates and had three children named Jennifer, Phoebe, and Rory.

He pledged about $60 billion over the next 20 years. In 2010, the foundation pledged about $10 billion to help find vaccines for diseases in poor countries. In 2013 Bill helped launch a $5.5 billion effort to demolish polio by 2018. India was later certified polio-free by the world Health Organization.
