As a boy:

Bill was born in 1955 in a upper middle class family in Seattle, Washington by William Henry Gates Sr. and Mary Maxwell Gates.
Gate’s family that supported and encouraged his interests in technology, invested through large amounts of money (Kreit/Wanke). Through a family of hierarchy, Gates, at an early age, had an enraging interest for computers in an age that technology was starting to grow its popularity. Knowing that computers were going to become a large part of Gates life, he was going to become one of the richest and most successful men of the 21st century. While in eighth grade, the school’s Mothers’ Club

bought an “ASR-33 teletype terminal and a block of computer time on a General Electric computer.”(Roger) While understanding new software, he spent most of his time pursuing computers more than his own school work. Gates was always fascinated by a working computer and how it always read software code in a perfect way (Roger). In 1972, Gates entered Harvard with a pre-law major. Going from taking the most prestigious classes at the university to creating the world’s first personal computer in 1975, he eventually wanted to shift his focus in a different direction (Kreit/Wanke).

In the production of Microsoft, Gates was marked as one of the most influential person of the century. With the help of IBM, in 1981, Gates’s software had IBM in each new computer. In 1987, while Gates was at age 31, he became the youngest billionaire ever (Kreit/Wanke).
Bill Gates, as noted above was not the first mover in PCs, but the first dominator when IBM licensed the operating system he acquired.”(Rao)
Finally, in 2000, Bill and Melinda Gates created a fully functional Foundation that focused on creative-minded people that want to solve real-life problems. In supporting Microsoft, Gates brought together smart people to collaborate with each other to solve problems. Overall, this foundation has officially helped “people all over the world to live healthier, more productive lives.” (“About Bill”)
As Gate’s Foundation grew, there was one aspect that created a foundation for his rise to fame. Through his good friend Warren Buffett, Buffett truly improved both the Bill Gates foundation by donating nearly 80% of his earnings and by improving his bill gates reputation in the world of technology as a whole. “They lobby Congress as a team. They criticize flat taxes as a team. They read classic business books as a team.”
