Binary opposition/operation clouds a reader’s view to see another side of the text. A majority of people would hail one concept or thing over another, such as fire and water. One may immediately see fire as destruction, while water cleanses. By viewing it this way, a reader can miss the way that instead of the fire destroying something, it is erasing the bad and making room for improvement. In deconstruction, the reader must see that favoritism and reverse it to see more possibilities. In “Adventures of Huckleberry Finn,” one binary opposition that I noticed was between reality and imagination. Huck is put down because he can’t “see” what the others can, while Tom is this lively character running about. The boys play along and Huck does,
