In 1976 Clinton became the attorney general of Arkansas. Two years later, he became the governor of Arkansas and he was also the youngest governor during 1978. He served 4 terms as Arkansas governor. When Bill Clinton was the governor of Arkansas, the state had one of the largest salary increase and at that time, Arkansas was almost ranked last on spending money on education.
Bill Clinton became the 42nd U.S president on January 20, 1992. He was also the 3rd youngest ever president to be elected. He defeat George H. W. Bush and Ross Perot in the presidential campaign. During his first term as president, he signed many laws that still exist today. One of the laws were the Brady Handgun Violence Act. Clinton signed that law on December 8, 1993.
