Bill Clinton has been involved with the middle eastern conflicts and has had a large impact on peace throughout the region due to his presidency from 1993-2001. The middle east has experienced many conflicts throughout the region and still has conflicts but due to the former president Bill Clinton, conflicts such as the negotiation in cairo, the oslo accords, and camp david summit that has made Bill such an iconic figure with middle eastern peace. Conflicts between the middle east have been between a variety of countries and organizations that have built up tension for a long time. This talk took place under Norwegian territory and was signed on the white house lawn in 1993. The oslo agreement was between Israel and Palestine stating that the israeli troops would withdraw their troops from the west bank and gaza, although there was an error in the text, it did not state that the state of Palestine would one day be set up alongside Israel. Due to this error in text Palestine did not agree with this implied agreement and instead bombed Israel. Oslo was only partially implemented into the conflict between palestine and israel. After the failure from the oslo agreement Bill Clinton set out to address the final state issues, This event occurred in camp david during 2000, these issues addressed many problems including border disputes, jerusalem, and refugees. This talk took place between Bill Clinton, Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak ,and PLO Chairman Yasser Arafat. Although there was no agreement, Bill was able to find out that the problem was that Israel offered less than Palestine could accept.
