Reagan and Carter certainly had their differences in terms of tax reform, but concerning foreign policy, especially Afghanistan, they were both on the exact same page. If Carter brought up the Operation through its adolescence, Reagan certainly brought it to its maturity. Since Reagan absolutely insisted on the notion of Whatever Carter had done to successfully deploy Operation Cyclone, Reagan took and expanded upon greatly. Upon entering office in 1981, Reagan nearly doubled the Operation’s Budget : most of the money the CIA donated was given to them under the direction of Wilson. In the years after 1983, Wilson was reported to have given the CIA as much as $300 million over the planned budget, under the excuse of “allowing the fighters
Throughout history there has been many great presidents, two of those being George Washington and Franklin D. Roosevelt. During each of their presidencies they accomplish many great feats that help shape our great country to what it is today. Each of these presidents has their similarities and differences in office with some of those being domestic and foreign affairs and the extent in which the administration resolves it. Washington was the first president of our country and did not affiliate with a party. He served two four year terms.

Andrew Johnson was the vice president and shortly became the 17th president in 1865 after the assassination of Lincoln. Bill Clinton was elected the 42nd president in 1992, after being the governor of Arkansas. Both of these impeachments were different in several ways.

New Conservatism DBQ Beginning with John F. Kennedy in 1961 and ending with the Reagan Administration in 1989, the United States was headed by believers of a new conservatism throughout these three decades. These conservative leaders returned the country to the moral roots of its founding and prosperity following years of economic downturn, civil frustration, and foreign and domestic struggles for the nation as a whole. A new type of leader was desired for by the American people, and one emerged with the new conservatism of the late 1900s. As citizens wanted to grow and improve, they felt subject to a government that was limiting their opportunity to do so, resulting in dissatisfaction with the leaders of the nation.
Funny how history works, FDR and Truman were the right Presidents at the right time. FDR introduced the greatest amount of domestic liberal economic legislation as part of his New Deal domestic program. Measures like the Conservation Corps (CCC), Works Progress Administration (WPA) and Tennessee Valley Authority employing over 8.5 million people and the cost of $10 Billion (Burran 2008). Although Hamby’s Liberalism and Its Challengers clarifies that new Deal failed to establish a variety of socialistic ideas and resolve all the problems, the credit is given for at least smoothing out some difficult times (Hamby 1992, 50). This tame depiction of becoming the model of modern economic liberalization that remains today then is followed by President
There are two people in the history of us that has certain similarities, one of them is Donald trump and the other one is Ronald Reagan. To start with their experiences, Donald trump never had a political involvement similarly to Ronald Reagan. However, Reagan was elected as governor of California but he never held political office. Subsequently, their professional life was like each other. Trump was a showrunner and Reagan was a b-movie actor and because of this reason people and media dismissed them as a crucial candidate.
At this time, President Bush was doing an outstanding job, to the point where no one wanted to compete with him upon re-election. This was odd however, because the economy was in a recession, and a president is scarcely re-elected during a recession. There was one specific person who felt they could beat Bush, and that was Bill Clinton. Clinton and Bush both had very different backgrounds and opinions. Bush had served in World War 2 and also had extensive experience within the government, including being vice-president for 8 years.
Roland Reagan came into the office during his first term hoping to use his administration to fight communism and end the Cold War. He finds out it was not easy as he thought. So, in his second term he turned to a different strategy getting to know someone like Gorbachev. The conservatives thought he was making a mistake. Roland Reagan’s success finally proved to the conservatives that his friendship with Gorbachev was not a dupe.
Have you realized or even thought about our latest two democratic presidents and their accomplishments? Both have done a lot for the United States, but do you know them? Ronald Reagan and Mario Cuomo were both important public political figures for America in the 1980’s. Ronald Reagan delivered a speech at the 1980 Republican National Convention. The purpose of Reagan's speech was to accept his position for the presidency. Mario Cuomo who was the New York governor spoke at the Democratic National Convention in 1984. He spoke to the people at the convention and many say that after hearing his speech they wish had been nominated to run for president.
A good President has a strong vision, and the courage and confidence to make change happen. Other desired qualities include strong communication and people skills, character and integrity, transparency, crisis management, and political skills. There have been many wonderful Presidents of the United States, some who have made positive changes, propelling our country in the right direction, and others who have sent our country drifting in a ship toward regression. I personally would argue that Bill Clinton and Barack Obama, both Democrats, were the top two Presidents since World War II. This perhaps because I’ve lived through both their presidencies, and walked the American path under their power and direction, and because both had qualities needed to be a great President, and leader.
