Throughout my term 4 volleyball and biomechanics unit I have developed improved my skills and understanding of the biomechanical principles improving my volleyball performance. Within this assignment I will identify and discuss the biomechanical principles utilized during the volleyball spike. I will be doing this through a biomechanical analysis of the volleyball spike in comparison to my own technique to identify how the relevant biomechanical principles have affected my volleyball spike.
There are 5 phases of the spike phases 1, preliminary movement step one is right foot slight in front of the other, weight and center of gravity forward. Step two is step forward with left foot arms forward, step three is quickly step with right foot, swing …show more content…

The running advance is important to give the volleyball actor maximum momentum for the pinnacle of the vertical parachuting (Gyulai, 2010). The components that relate directly to momentum are the velocity of coming and the mass of the instrumentalist. During the approach, the momentum of the organic structure build up kinetic vigor (muscularity in motion). The goal is to transfer this into potential difference vigour through retention the body moving (stopping will loss kinetic energy creating a smaller jump height) (Blazevich, 2012). This is where Newton’s Third Law of nature of Motion comes into play, ‘For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction’. The force built up from the take-off is applied to the ground with both vertical and horizontal …show more content…

The arm is at first abandoned the body in a hyper-broadened position, this is to plan for the best forward position when the arms are swung forward, upward and after that descending. At the point when the arms are in the upward speeding up stage, they push against the sub-par parts of the body to expand the descending power with follows up on the floor (making a more noteworthy counter response on the competitor). Producing higher measures of vertical force will manage the tallness of the competitor's focal point of mass at take-off (Ding, 2004). The arm energy and position, alongside truck pivot and flexion likewise have impact in the ball speed (Moellendorf, 1993).
The point while spiking the volleyball is to exchange the power that has been developed in the past stages into the ball to make most extreme rate. And in addition speed, precision is central in a spike execution. At the point when making the association with the volleyball, the snippet of power (torque) is critical to look into. This identifies with the power following up on the ball which makes it pivot. This is measured by the comparison 'torque = latency x precise increasing speed (t=la)' and will have tremendous impact in ball situation. (Blazevich,
