Does it ever upset you when a person, who doesn’t play your sport, says that it is easy? For me, my sport is volleyball and I hate it when people say that it is easy. As a person that plays volleyball for fun and competitively, some would think that I would say volleyball is an easy sport. Volleyball is a hard sport, but I do not think it is the hardest. Volleyball is very demanding, for example, you need your mind, arms, legs, and core to work together to keep the ball in play. I think a lot of people think volleyball is easy because it does not look as hard as it seems. The people watching don’t know about the angles of the platform, the timing of an approach to hit, or any other the fundamentals of the sport.
One of the hardest things to do in volleyball is passing a ball. Without passing, you cannot set up plays to get points. There are many different types of balls you can pass. There are tips, roll shots, hard swings, and down balls, which are the attacks. To be able to pass the ball correctly, you need to be able to read the hitter’s shoulder and arm position. If you are early to hitting, you will be waiting for the ball before it reaches you or you will not have a solid contact with the ball. If you are late, then you will not have the option to swing hard anymore or you may hit it out. The main thing with attacking the ball is the placement of the ball.
