The causes ranged from the American Revolutionary War, The Enlightenment ideas and the three estates. As a result, the effects to these causes were immediate and long term. The first major cause of the French Revolution was the American Revolutionary War. Not only did the American Revolution have an impact on America, but it also affected France.
