The sun boiled overhead as one of the most deadly brawls in the history of Verona took place early Monday afternoon. Romeo Montague, now known as a bloodthirsty murder was seen fleeing the scene of the crime just moments after he killed Tybalt Capulet. According to eyewitnesses, Romeo ruthlessly killed Tybalt due to the fact that Tybalt committed an act of self-defense protecting himself from Mercutio Escalus. Although Romeo has been banished from Verona, people live in fear as the murderer is still on the loose. The Capulets and Montagues have been engaged in a bitter family feud since the beginning of the 13th century. They have humiliated each other in public, and bit their fingers at each other. They have done many things that would be considered criminal however nobody on either side of the feud has ever went as far as to shed another’s blood. Knowing that what he was about to do was illegal, Romeo mercilessly engaged in a fight with Tybalt. He was blinded by his rage; Balthasar in an exclusive interview told us that before the battle Romeo announced “Away to heaven, respective lenity, and fire-eyed fury be my conduct now”. Romeo was seen drawing his sword and killing the innocent Tybalt Capulet. This shows what type of person Romeo Montague really is. He is a cold hearted, revengeful, inconsiderate killer. The man that many young people had looked up to as their role model, now a disgrace to the community. In spite of this, the prince did not sentence Romeo to death but instead banished him from Verona.
