Most companies utilize numerous channels to broadcast their advertisements, this way they can reach multiple different markets. Is the message always the same, no matter the communication channel?
One company that I have seen multiple advertisements for is Blue Apron. They are a food delivery service, that provides all the ingredients for high quality meals. I have seen their advertisements on social media sites, specifically Facebook, and I have heard their advertisements on the radio. In this case, their message is always consistent: they provide farm fresh meals that are cooked from scratch (Blue Apron, n.d.). By advertising on social media, as well as on the radio, they are reaching a large group of potential customers. Social media reaches a huge market, it reaches younger consumers that want to preserve the planet. Hence, the support to local farmers and the reduction of food waste is appealing. Radio broadcast also reaches a large market, people that commute. This can be people driving to and from work, and even parents carpooling children. I receive a booklet in the mail every month, as well as television commercials. They even host a fashion show every year that is broadcast on television. Their message is generally the same in all outlets, they always have women in lingerie and announce their promotions. Furthermore, their ads promote a shopping offering, rather than just a specialty offering. The monthly booklets target returning customers, as they include coupons and are only received after a purchase has been made. The television commercials target new customers, I predict they are the most successful as lingerie is best sold visually.
