More than 340 years of mistreatment, 381 days of walking to school, work, and church. Yet, people still take their freedom for granted. Wake up America! A widely respected man someone who graduated from Morehouse College in Atlanta with a BA in Sociology none other than Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. He was an African American Baptist minister, activist, humanitarian, and leader in African American Civil Rights Movement do not forget about all of his awards, also has his own national holiday. Did you know that Martin Luther King Jr. is the youngest person to ever win the Nobel Peace Prize at the age of 35 years old? In my eyes, a blueprint is a plan for something. King, how can having a blueprint help a young person prepare for that opportunity? A blueprint is a plan. Can a plan help you become more prepared? Yes, it can. Dr. King says, “A blueprint serves as the pattern, as the guide, and a building is not well erected without a good, solid blueprint.” If you didn’t know we are the building that Dr. King is talking about. If we don’t have a plan your life isn’t stable. You need a foundation to support your future. This is where your blueprint comes in. By planning ahead, you are prepared for those doors. You realize what to do because you have gotten ready for this. Your blueprint kept you on track and set you up for whatever comes ahead. Your blueprint has prepared you for the future. Be the best of whatever you are. In conclusion, Dr. King’s job is not yet done and neither is ours. What does Dr. King mean when he refers to doors opening? Why is it important to be “ready to face theses doors as they open”? According to Dr. King how can having a blueprint help a young person prepare for that opportunity?
