Boeing's Rotational Program

Our rotational program gives each intern an opportunity to grasp a firm understanding of how each group at Auto Owners Insurance contributes to our overall success. Throughout the summer, interns have the opportunity to work within three groups at Auto Owners. This allows the interns to conceptualize how each group at Auto Owners works together to deliver quality products and services.

The rotational program that Boeing utilizes has inspired us to implement one of our own. Boeing’s rotational internship program gives interns a chance to learn about every facet of their company. The figure above compares our opportunities for interns with the opportunities Boeing has available for their interns. Boeing offers three additional opportunities for their interns. These extra facets have contributed to increasing their intern to full-time conversion ratio.

After conducting research on Boeing’s rotational internship program, and learning about the success they have experienced, we feel that we can better serve our interns by implementing a rotational program of our own. By implementing a rotational program, our interns are able to gain a better understanding of Auto Owners as a whole, and appreciate each division at our corporation.

Interns Will Find Areas They Excel In
Through our rotational program, interns will be able to experience a variety of roles within Auto Owners Insurance. By giving interns this freedom, they will be able to find roles they excel in. Helping our interns grow in areas they enjoy and succeed in is a crucial part to our new internship program. Our old internship format limited our interns in one specific group within Auto Owners for the entire summer. We believe that our interns did not have the opportunity to learn and develop a wide enough range of skills. At such a young age, we feel that a small percentage of interns know exactly which job function they thoroughly enjoy and thrive in. With that being said, we want to accommodate the large portion of interns that do not exactly know which field they want to pursue by exposing them to three different divisions throughout the entire summer.
