The book of James is written about practical Christian living. It was written by the half brother of Jesus around 48-49 AD. It is believed to be the first new testament book written. It is aimed more at how genuine faith transforms a life of someone. There are many background situations that the Author speaks from when he gives advice and encouragement. One of the most famous passages in James talks about when hard times come consider it pure joy. Trials and testing produce endurance and James experienced that first hand. James encourages believers to not only believe, but put your belief into action and have faith.
