While reading the book Night by Elie Wiesel, one of the things I learned about was the jews living conditions. I read about Elie living them with many other jews and it stuck out to me because how could a person live like that and stay alive? Every jew that was caught was sent to a concentration camp and had a total different way of lifestyle when being held there. Another thing that stuck out while reading the book was the SS officers. The SS officers are Hitler's protective unit.
The book “Night” was written in 1960 by Elie Wiesel. This book took place mainly in Auschwitz and Buchenwald, during the years of 1944- 1945. The book “Night” is a memoir mainly about Eliezer and his father being imprisoned by the German Nazis and sent to several concentration camps. So that, Eliezer's faith is tested in many different ways with the severe horrors of The Holocaust.
The Holocaust was a very traumatic event for everyone who experienced it and those who came after, and it gave many people experience, trauma, and disorders that they should never have had. Those of us who did not personally experience the pain will never know what those Jews went through in those camps, but Maus and Night share the experiences and horrors that millions of Jews had to live through. Maus is a survivor tale that tells the author, Artie Speigelmen’s father’s experiences in the Holocaust and his retelling through a graphic novel. Night is an autobiography written by Elie Wiesel that recounts the experiences of a teenager in a concentration camp during the Holocaust. In the book a man named Moshe The Beadle ran around warning everybody that there is an evil coming. Nobody believed him and about 7 days later the Hungarian police threw all the Jews out of their homes.
The book Night, is very upsetting to most people, but it talks about an actual view of somebodies experience in World War Two, and how things actually were. World War Two, was the most destructive conflict in history. It lasted from 1939-1945, Adolf Hitler (the Leader of the Nazi’s) was determined to pretty much invade Poland, and they did. Two days later, France and Britain declared war on Germany. That is when the war broke out.
Night By Elie Wiesel Through his rough time at the concentration camp Elie did his best to keep his hope up. During the book Elie showed hope that kept him motivated to stay alive. In Night by Elie Wiesel it shows hopes keeps the spirit of motivation to stay alive when he was trapped under bodies, kept running/walking to the concentration camp, and keeping his dad alive. Hope was shown when Elie was trapped under bodies; he was motivated by hope to survive. In the book he said “ I succeeded to digging a hole in the wall of dead and dying people , a small hole through which I could drink a little air.”
The Holocaust is one of the most horrific events to ever happen during the duration human existence A.D. In the memoir, Night by Elie Wiesel, one reads about a young Jewish boy living in the village of Sighet, Romania. In the process, one gains only a small bit of insight into the horrors that The Holocaust was to its victims. Although one reads about the very explicitly and detailed writings of the camps and the deportation, it's only reading words on a page. It’s impossible to know the pain and suffering that these people went through because of all the terror tactics used by the Nazi party, as well as the abysmal atmosphere that was present at the camps.
After facing a few years of trials and tribulations, Elie Wiesel was able to survive those hard times and live to speak about it in Night; his autobiography, which described his life over a time of nearly two years in concentration camps and life on his very own hell on earth. Night goes into depth about Elie’s experience in the concentration camps; Auschwitz and Buna where not only does he lose his family, but figuratively himself, God, and hope for humanity. Miraculously, Elie survived the persecution and genocide of the Jews during the Holocaust, but sadly his conscious and faith did not. Elie had to witness and faced obstacles that were never meant or suitable for a boy his age and that drastically changed his mindset and outlook on life.
The book Night is based on a true story; it is based on the Holocaust and Elie Wiesel, who is a survivor of the Holocaust. It is important not to forget about the Holocaust because it was a horrific time when Jews were tortured. Jews should not have been tortured in such an unforgivable way. They were just normal people and did not hurt anyone. Elie tells his story about how the Nazi officers took him and his family from their houses and separated him from his mother and sister.
In the book Night Eliezer came face to face to some of his greatest fears, separating with his family, didn’t know where they were going but all at once he felt changed. He didn’t feel like God was with him, he felt as if he vanished. They go to many concentration camps and work many hours, go through tons of selections, train trip, and running miles a day. Your time at the camp is either life or death swaying back and forth. “Never shall I forget those moments that murdered my God and my soul that turned my dreams to ashes.”
How did the execrable setting, the concentration camps, alter those involved? Good people were manipulated and changed into performing heinous acts. “Night,” is written from the perspective of Eliezer, as he navigated through the survival of the Holocaust, with his father. Eli became aware that people who neglected their morals thrived, this revelation troubled him deeply. The inhumane atrocities that took place during the Holocaust resulted in corrupt mindsets among those involved: the German soldiers, the Jews and Eliezer himself.

Because the Holocaust was not raging intensely around Transylvania at the time, the Jews of Sighet were in disbelief of Moshe’s tale of devastation. Drastic changes occurred in every Jews everyday life once the Hungarian Jews were decimated in 1944. As the Germans began occupying Hungary, Sighet Jews were forced to live with quarantines, face the destruction of their property, and wear the yellow stars that they were tagged with. After that they were sent off to somewhere in the ghetto. They suffered horrible transportation conditions they were tightly packed into train cars, with an unknown destination and no bathrooms or food.
The story “night” by Elie Wiesel tells about his time spent at the two concentration camps Auschwitz and Buchenwald, during the holocaust. While he was there he lost friends, he lost family and, he lost his faith in god or that was even any god at all. At Auschwitz its better and the prisoners are nicer, the prisoners are allowed to sleep. Elie doesn’t eat his first meal, a plate of thick soup, but everything is a lot better with people sitting and talking with each other.
