The book The Great Gatsby, written by the amazing mind of Frances Scott Fitzgerald was interesting in more ways than one. The plot, the characters, the setting, the time period, the ways the characters thought and acted was very impressive. Fitzgerald wove an excellent story full of characters that were not your normal ‘run-of-the-mill’ people.
The story begins at a house in Long Island, New York, in a place called West Egg VIllage. This house belongs to Nick Carraway. Nick was an educated man who had graduated from New Haven and was living a simple life in the country. But, his house was located between two huge mansions. One of those mansions being Gatsby’s mansion. Nick at the time, had never met Gatsby, but he had heard of him. One day, he visits his dear second cousin Daisy Buchanan along with her husband Tom Buchanan. Nick isn’t a fan of Tom, but still tolerates him. As Nick, Tom and Daisy are chatting, Nick starts talking about the man named Gatsby who lived next door to him. Daisy immediately remembered the name and revealed she had met Gatsby a while back, before she met her husband Tom. Page 1 …show more content…
