A memoir is a collection of memories that happened throughout an author’s life from birth to death. The book Bad Boy is a memoir by Walter Dean Myers. The book tells events of Waters life and describes how he grew up. He speaks about his life in Harlem and the community of people around him such as family and friends. While reading this book I am able to see the change in Walter from chapter to chapter. The memoir displays Walter growth, physical and mental. The story explains how Walter came to be the kindhearted person and loved author he was. So far I have truly enjoyed reading about Walter’s life experiences. As Walter life goes on he is formed by his childhood events. At first he is a rebel. He gets into many fight and lots of trouble.
