Daniel of St. Thomas Jenifer, one of the five delegates from Maryland at the Continental Convention was born in 1723 at a retirement estate in Charles County, Maryland. Jenifer 's education was widely unknown, however, nearing adulthood he was granted ownership of a large estate near Annapolis, called Stepney. He held many post up the ladder of the government, mainly as justices for higher and higher courts. Later he became president of Maryland 's council of safety and then the first president of Maryland 's state senate.
This commemorative coin was based off of the Capitol building in Colonial Williamsburg. The Capitol was where Patrick Henry gave his speech Caesar Brutus. This speech was very inspirational and important to the colonists. This is why on the front side of the coin Patrick Henry’s face is shown along with his famous words “Give me liberty, or give me death!” These very inspirational words are a sign of liberty which is why on the back is the Grand Union Flag.

One of seventeen children Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune was born July 20, 1875 to former slave parents on a cotton plantation in Mayesville, South Carolina as Mary Jane McLeod. McLeod grew up picking cotton with her family but at an early age showed an interest in her education and decided to attend a one room schoolhouse named Trinity Mission School the only school in Mayesville. During this time McLeod school teacher Emma Jane Wilson became her mentor and support to assist her in attending two Bible Institutes, Scotia Seminary in Concord, North Carolina in 1888-1894, which became Barber-Scotia College, and Dwight Moody’s Institute in Chicago, Illinois, which is now the Moody Bible Institute. "Bowie State Commencement Speech" is the speech Michelle Obama delivered to the Bowie State graduating class of May, 2013. She expressed the need of African Americans to be “hungry” in getting an education to improve themselves and the country. She pointed out that the graduates of Bowie State University have an obligation to fulfill. She used a quote from Frederick Douglass “Education means emancipation.” The fact that it was illegal for an African American to be educated was an obstacle that had to be overcome.
Patrick Henry was one of the greatest persuasive speakers during American history. The most famous speech was ‘Virginia Convention’ also known as ‘Liberty or Death’. In his speech at the Virginia Convention, Patrick argues that the Americans need to put their fears away by taking up arms against the British by using allusions, diction, syntax, figurative language to achieve his purpose. On March 4, 1841, President William Henry Harrison gave the longest inaugural speech in American history. In summary, President Harrison’s speech mainly discussed how the people of the United States has the rights to individual liberties and how it is the duty of the president to protect those liberties through the Constitution. Specifically, the speech went into great detail about how the president should consult with everyone, like the Senate and House of Representatives, before making a huge executive decision. In general, Harrison's goal was to bring the country together through the use of the Constitution and individual rights.

The Sons of Liberty was a secret organization that began its rage in 1765. This vicious group committed cruel and brutal acts. They were set against the idea of the stamp act. Many believed that the sons of liberty were heroes, but truly they were an organization of fanatics. The name “ Sons of Liberty” was taken from Isaac Barre’s speech.
Patrick Henry’s speech Many things happened in the 1700’s that caused conflict. On March 22, 1765 the stamp act was passed by parliament,the law was any goods would be taxed and sold to the colonist.
