Peacefully resisting the law can be used to positively impact free society, but like with anything, this can be taken too far. One peaceful resistance to the law is peaceful protesting. People will often create some sort of obstruction hazard while protesting and can cause some problems which causes the police to get involved and break it up. This makes us feel less free. The fact that we are unable to stand and say what we think and be heard as a group makes us feel trapped. A free society is built on the idea of freedom of speech, and when that right gets suppressed, we lose our freedom. Many times these protests turn violent as there is such a strong tension between the police and the protesters. Though protesting isn't necessarily breaking the law, the police treat it as if it is. It is also alright to break the law if the law is hurtful to people or isn't doing what the law should. People tend to break these laws to get their rights back and many times it's not a violent violation of the law, it's simply people trying to survive. When people do this though, they get in trouble or the the law stops being enforced and at that point is it really a law? The speed limit in Michigan is broken a lot and the police seem to ignore a lot. This is one of the cases where a peaceful violation of the law can create issues and cause harm. People don't realize that the speed limit is set up for our safety and if they break it, they are putting their safety on the line. I think the government needs to see what they are doing and how people are reacting to create a better set of laws that people will be more willing to follow to ensure safety. When someones rights are given up for a law, they won't be willing to follow it which may create a problem for them
