Cress is one of the many books of the Lunar series written by fiction writer, Marissa Meyer. It introduces a new character that goes by the name of Cress, a representation of the fairy tale Rapunzel. She finally escapes her space prison with help of Captain Thorne, Cinder, and a few friends already made in the previous books. The story centers around Cinder, a classic teenage cinderella who is as well a cyborg that has recently found out she was the long lost princess of the Lunar planet, home of the beautiful, but cruel, Queen Levana. We both acted as if we were strong and independent people that didn’t need help, but in reality we both knew we were actually scared and vulnerable people. We’d put a facade to put others at ease, but we’d be freaking out on the inside. We both lacked confidence in ourselves and were scared of anything going wrong. She once said, “There are people relying on me, people who don’t even know they’re relying on me, and now they’re dying all because of some ridiculous fantasy that I can save them, but what if I can’t?” This lines reminds me of all the things I do that allow people to trust me. What If I can’t? No matter what the situation, especially the one Cinder is in now, I would be ripping out my hair. The only difference is that I’d be a bigger cry baby about it and complain more than necessary. “People would talk, and she suddenly remembered how bad it was that people would talk.” As a person who has much to think about, I can relate to this since I’ve wondered what people thought of what I’d do or even attempt to do. It really seems as if Cinder and I cared what other thought and scared for the worst. I really wouldn’t react to differently if I was in her
