1. What are the present dangers, safety threats or impending safety threats?
Throughout the case file, we can see that the mother, Andrea S., has many types of personal and health issues: depression, schizophrenia, and bi-polar disorder. Also, with her having these issues she tends to become depressed or another person, which has resulted in her becoming a “monster.” Vincent told the Child Protective Service (CPS) worker that he was afraid his mother would be come a “monster,” but never said his reason. Also, the safety threats was neglect because Andrea tried to kill herself, which put Vincent in harms way because he would have been there all by himself. Vincent will form psychological problems, which will mainly cause him to feel unwanted to anyone, which could often form depression. Also, the feeling of hurt will come along because he would feel that his mother or biological family does not want him anymore or does not care about him anymore. While being abused or neglected, the foster care system will take Vincent into their care, like they did throughout this case file. The Child Protective Services did not see that Andrea, Vincent’s mother, was fit to take care of him after being hospitalized, until she showed progress. Vincent knows his mother is sick, so he believes when she gets better he will be placed back into her custody. However, he does have some separation anxiety from his mother and foster parent. With his biological mother, he questions why his mother has not came to see him, which usually goes away when someone says she’s getting better. Also since his biological mother has been taken away from him, he has grown a special bond with his foster parent. However, sometimes at school he asks the teacher if his foster mom will be here when school lets out because he is afraid she will not return. So, therefore, his emotional condition is stable at times, then sometimes it needs reassurance, but his physical state seems to be
