This year, Tariji Gordon should have just had her seventh birthday. Instead, the foster family that she lived with and her siblings are mourning the fourth anniversary of her death. Tariji was born on March 6th in 2011, she was murdered, at the age of two, by her mother on February 6, 2014. The mother, Rachel Fryer, gave birth to seven other children other that Tariji. Unfortunately, Tariji was not the only victim of Fryer’s abuse and neglect, and much of this maltreatment, including her death, could have been avoided, had the case been handled and monitored properly.
Meri Brown actually divorced her husband Kody Brown so he could legally marry his 4th wife Robyn Brown. This was all in hopes that Kody could adopt her 3 children and make them part of the Brown family. People shared that Meri Brown is now speaking out about the adoption and how happy she is that these children are not a big part of their family. These children are from Robyn's previous marriage, but Kody has been raising them as his own for a while now. The only way that Kody Brown could adopt them was if he was actually legally married to Robyn because the court doesn't recognize their spiritual marriage.

Everyday children are being placed in foster homes facing abuse, unloving parents, and even death. The system has only progressively gotten worse leaving behind children traumatized to a point where no amount of love or therapy can fix them.
Foster Children in Quebec’s Foster Care In 2013, Quebec social workers had 80540 reports of abuse for the whole Quebec children population, of which 31948 were investigated. Some reports did not fall under the category of abuse or neglect and consequently did not require an intervention. Conversely, there are issues with foster care which are getting worse and hurting the children in care.

People who become parents, generally understand that they have to raise their children in a certain way so that they will become healthy and functional members of society. Most of these parents also understand that if they do not give their children proper care and attention, their child may not have a successful future. Often times, parents would argue which method is the best to raise their child and which way is wrong. Everyone seems to have their own definition of parenting. Most people however, would disagree with the way Rex and Rose Mary Walls in The Glass Castle raised their children.
Being taking away from her mother was a painful memory that she carries with her every single day hoping that her mother will rescue her. She battles between different caseworkers, shuffled from school to school, dealing with other foster care children, and forced to endure manipulative. In this forgettable memoir, Ashely discovers her voice and was able to succeed in life. After reading this book, I initially felt angry because Ashely was taken from her mother at a young age.

R/s also in the home are Lynette’s aunt, uncle, and two cousins. R/s the cutting started last year when Lynette was in the 6th grade and she was cutting herself on the arms. R/s Lynette stopped once her family found out, but now started cutting her thighs. R/s a mental health referral is being provided to the grandfather.
The foster care system shatters like broken glass and there is no repair for broken glass. Permanent damage can only be fixed with drastic solutions, redesigning the system is the method to follow. Foster parents go through hardships and trials while trying to adopt children. Children need stability and the parents willing to give them that they cannot be with forever. A reason for a shattered system is the result of a shattered admissions process.
Aging out of foster care falls under the child welfare field of practice. Child welfare is a system that is designed to protect children through prevention/intervention, primarily focusing on children who have a risk of being abused or neglected. Child welfare itself overlaps with many other professions and disciplines such as doctors, law enforcement, and education professionals, etc. The well-being of a child should never solely be on the social worker as a child may see many of these professionals on a regular basis (NASW, 2013). Having connections with all the systems in a child’s life can be very beneficial for the child.

This just shows how cruel people can be to those they do not know, and they don’t really care about them at all. This woman treated the children kindly, while the foster kids were treated horribly. This woman just did it for the money. An abundance of people will do this, just for the money and not care for the foster kids at.
In some states in the United States, youth age out of foster care at the age of 18, however in states such as Maryland and the District of Columbia youth age out of foster care at the age of 21. It was the John H. Chafee Foster Care Independence Program, which was a part of the Foster Care Independence act of 1999, which promoted programs to assist youth in the process of making the transition from foster care. The primary goal of these programs were that youth become self sufficient. Such programs as the John H. Chafee Foster Care Impendence Program, assisted youth who have left in care but not yet reached age 21. Literature Review Throughout the years, research has been conducted on the effects that foster care can have on children. In the United States alone, there are roughly 670,000 children who have spent time in the foster care system each year (“Foster Care,” 2017). Of those children, approximately 33% of them age out of foster care system. Studies then show that the foster care system has had varying effects on the children who are/have been a part of it. In many cases, studies have noted the effects of attachment for children in foster care.
