Many humans in Africa are suffering from a serious situation.These individuals have been attacked by a deadly disease known by the name of Ebola. Many people say that Ebola is no different than the Bubonic Plague. I believe that there are many differences and similarities between these two epidemics.Furthermore,there are also a vast variety of different ways that society has used in attempts to find a cure. These techniques were different 700 years ago when the Bubonic Plague was introduced to the world, and are different today in modern society. Our new technologies and advanced worldviews have allowed us to further conduct research and enhance our response to epidemics such as Ebola and the Bubonic Plague.

However, along with these differences the two also are similar in many ways. Firstly, the symptoms for the Plague and Ebola are heavily similar. Symptoms for the Plague included fever, chills, headaches, shock, difficulty breathing, muscle aches, vomiting and bleeding for the mouth or nose. Symptoms for Ebola in the early stages include fever, severe headache, joint and muscle aches and weakness. Overtime, the Ebola patient also develops symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, red eyes, raised rash, cough, severe weight loss and internal bleeding. Secondly, both have similar preventions or cautions to take in order to avoid the diseases. Firstly, having good hygiene is very important. Keeping away from dead animals or insects is also very key because the Plague or Ebola can spread through animals that died through the same sickness. Avoiding touching your eyes, face and mouth is also a good idea because this keeps germs away from getting inside the body. The third similarity is location. The Plague and Ebola outbreaks are most common in rural areas and urban areas which have poor sanitation, overcrowding and high rat population.
