Keeping consumers happy is the greatest challenge faced by industries in a capitalist market. In a social system where the means of production are based on the needs and wants of its consumers, it is detrimental for the corporations of a capitalist system to attentively listen, and comply, to the demands of their buyers. The demands of consumers have been perpetually transforming for centuries, and these changes can be seen in every industry today, such as the poultry production industry, for example. The majority of the poultry producers have used the same process to raise their Broiler chickens, a specific breed of chicken made to be fast-growing and feed efficient, since the 1960’s (Elfic). The chickens are raised in cages that meet the

I believe one of the objectives on McGregor's Theory Y that Whole Foods uses is the employees being committed to the organizations objectives and being rewarded which seems to be what Whole Foods supports. They realize that in order to have happy customers, you need happy employees. If you utilize an employer's highest potential and challenge them and reward them for their work, positive results will be evident. Although Theory Y is a manager's perspective of the employee as autonomous and hard working, the manager is the one that needs to initially start positivity within the workplace. If the manager views the employees as motivated and individuals who can make contributions, the employee will fulfill these expectations (Lawter, Kopelman,

If an organization has continuity where turnover is minimum; retaining employees can create an environment of familiarity where everyone knows their roles to reach an objective. For example, the San Antonio Spurs are a model NBA franchise that won five championships in fifteen years from 1999 to 2014. Even though change is inevitable, the Spurs managed to retain their core pieces and add complimentary parts to sustain success. The whole organization from the owner, general manager, head coach, players, scouts, and other employees understand what it takes to be successful where everybody’s input is valued. Teamwork can lead to failure of a business when a group of people lack communication to work together as a cohesive unit.
