The healthcare industry generates a great amount of data every day, as a form of record keeping, patient care, compliance, and regulatory requirements. Just a decade ago, all this data was stored in the form of hard copy form, now it is rapidly transforming to digital data which is called EMR (Electronic Medical Record). The digitalization of the healthcare has not just reduced cost of care, but also improved quality of care due to the abundance data that organizations receive from the EMR to identify the flaws in their system. I work in the healthcare industry where improving quality of care is our primary goal. We use software called eCW , which is an integrated system.
Business Intelligence The use of business intelligence is increasingly more important in the day to day use of technology by consumers, businesses, and organizations. The ability to capture consumer trends is priceless from a revenue and profit stand point. The business that recognizes this benefit will stay ahead in their current markets. Question 1 a) I work as a Principal Support and Business Analyst for NHS Wales Informatics Service (NWIS), where I am responsible for managing a team of six business analysts, who support and maintain the Welsh Radiology Information System (WRIS). NWIS is a Public Sector orgnaisation, responsible for providing Information Management and Information Technology (IT) services, and support to all NHS organisations within Wales. NWIS supports over seventy national services, including systems used in Primary, Secondary and Tertiary Care (NWIS, 2017). WRIS is primarily a secondary care system and is used in Radiology in all hospitals throughout Wales. As the Principal Support and Business Analyst, I am primarily responsible for ensuring that the WRIS application performs to the requirements of its users and clinicians.
D2-Evaluate the effectiveness of business information and its communication as key contributor to the success of an organisation The business information has been effective as the key contributor to the success of Marks and Spencer’s because the morning briefing sheets which are used to inform the employees/ staff at the beginning of each shift about the targets they have for each day and what the employees must do in order to achieve those targets by the end of the day. The briefing sheets will also consist of details of the number of orders needed to be shipped out and by when. The morning briefing will be supervised by the department manager or a team leader. Also, the use of KPI (Key Performance Indicator) has been a very important key contributor to the success.
