In the novel MONSTER, written by Walter Dean Myers, tells the story of two men under the age of 25 on trial for felony murder. Steve Harmon is a 16 year old boy who is accused of being the lookout to a robbery that James King, a 22 year old and his friend Bobo Evans were planning. James King is accused of being the one that ripped Alguinaldo Nesbit’s gun from him and used it to shoot and kill Mr.Nesbit. Prosecutor Sandra Petrocelli works to convince the jury that their age isn’t an excuse that a man died at their hands. Kathy O’brien and Asa Briggs both work as the attorneys to prove that one of these men are innocent.
The conflict of the story “The Fighter”, written by Walter Dean Myers, is that Billy Giles is having trouble with some things such as money issues. Billy Giles does not have a lot of money so he has to fight and box to get paid. His wife Johnnie Mae does not want him fighting so he has to keep the pride to stay in the fight without his wife finding out. In the beginning of the story the text states, “Billy Giles told his wife that he was going to the gym to work out. If he told her the truth, that he was going to fight again, he knew she would have cried” (27).

His name is Ned he was first sent to a boarding school for navajos and then he signed up to fight in war. In the book it tells about the many mixed emotions Ned has about being a marine. Ned wanted to be a marine for a while. He realized he wanted to be in the marines during boarding school.
The First Decision Reef, the main character in the novel, The First Stone, by Don Aker, makes a bad decision and ultimately has to deal with the consequences. To begin, Reef latches his anger onto a stone and deliberately throws it over an overpass into oncoming traffic. The stone causes a major accident between not one, but several cars and severely injures a teenage girl. Fortunately for Reef, the Judge sentences him to live at North Hills Group Home, and to volunteer at a rehabilitation centre. This punishment changes Reef’s life for the better.

Reef is responsible for putting Leeza a young girl, in the hospital because of his actions. Since he is in rehab, many people wished he went to jail.
‘The Demon Shark: II Predator or Prey?’ embodies the ecocriticism literary nature of ‘The Boy Behind the Curtain’ with Tim Winton maintaining a ruthless frontier attitude to the preservation of the environment by pointing out the unfair “[routine vilification]” of sharks, which has led to most of them “[disappearing] globally without an outcry”. In this particular passage, Winton disapproves of the media variously describing the shark as “a terrorist” and “an insidious threat”, even though we are “far more likely to die on the toilet”, or in a car accident, or from a bee sting than from a shark encounter. Lorelle Henry testifies king was at the store the day of Mr. Nesbitt death, Bobo Evans testifies that King shot Mr. Nesbitt with a chrome, and lastly Osvaldo Cruz testifies that him and King planned and did this get over. On the other hand Dorothy Moore gives king an alibi.
Bob and Betty initially didn’t get along at all, but the more they are around each other the more they begin to enjoy each other’s company. Soon they fall in love, but a problem strikes. Betty overhears talk of Bob’s “million dollar proposition” and she is under the influence that Bob is going to degrade the general on live television and buy out the Inn. This makes Betty leave Vermont, and head out to New York to perform solo. Little does she know that his “million dollar proposition” is that Bob announces the holiday performance at the Inn on The Ed Sullivan Show.
Existentialism is a philosophy that invites us to find purpose and meaning in life by thinking independently and acting deliberately, without overt influence from social norms. This philosophy manifests in Albert Camus’s novel The Stranger in the strange character of Meursault, who defies many major social norms throughout the novel. He places no faith in justice or authority figures. He does not pretend to grieve for his dead mother.

At Yale, my talents could expressed academically, socially, and clinically through learning from renowned professors and mentors. With Yale’s eminence, I hope to become a leader of medical research and clinical care, preferentially involving Medicinal Cannabis as a research topic. Specifically, I hope to study genetic or cellular based conditions, and diseases that may be treated with this natural medicine, which the anti-tumor properties of this drug interests me most currently.
"Button, Button" Write Up The short story, “Button, Button,” by Richard Matheson, is focused around a married couple facing a difficult decision. The couple is given a button delivered by a mysterious man, Mr. Steward, and if they press the button, somewhere, someone they don 't know dies and they receive a payment of $50,000 dollars. For my adaptation of “Button, Button”, I did scene six, an important scene in the short story as Norma pushes the button, and is later informed that Arthur died. She soon realizes his life-insurance policy is $25,000 with double indemnity.
