Deke Slayton was an amazing astronaut as well as a former pilot in the American Air Force, an aeronautical engineer and the first Chief of the Astronaut Office for NASA. His most famous mission was when he was chosen to join the Mercury Seven astronaut crew. One of his other acheivements included being the oldest person to travel in space at the time at the age of 51. Despite all his successes, there were a few setbacks in his life that almost prevented him from accomplishing his goals. In his childhood, his left ring finger got cut off because of an farm equipment accident.
He wanted to go to the moon so bad, that when he died his ashes were sent to the moon. This guy really loved rocks!
Bluford joined the Airforce and got many different jobs working for the air force. He was awarded for being heroic and received all kinds of great appreciation. Bluford protested being heroic. He says it is his duty and honor to fight for his home and all he worked for. Background, Career in Space, and accomplishments after awards are much simpler ways for future African American Astronauts to take that were inspired by Guion Bluford (Guy).
Eugene Cernan was an astroaut from Illinois. He flew on three NASA missions, Gemini 9A, Apollo 10, and Apollo 13, he was officially the last man to go to the moon. He salvaged his mission on Gemini, and on Apollo 10 set the world record for fastest manned vehicle at 24,791 mph. He logged in 5000 hours of flying and more that 4800 in a jet aircraft and 200 aircraft carrier landings which are really hard. I can connect to Eugene Cernan because to be an astronaut and a jet for over 4800 hours.
n 1964 LBJ signed a very important bill some people believe that he had signed it for more political power or sign it for the good of the people and the country? Before Political power LBJ was a teacher in a small Mexican American school in Texas. Document states "They knew even in their youth the pain of prejudice." He experience racism before he was in office the total fear it had on people even young children. Document A gave us a idea of how people without rights looked and dressed.
He was determined to explore the unknown depths of space and bring the unknown to light. He breaks down the facts and scientific meanings to where everyday people can comprehend what is being said. He is one of the most awarded, looked up to, and influential people to ever breathe. Tyson has many awards, degrees, masters, and is very successful in the works of space studies. Tyson is still making discoveries to this day, he is determined to educate people more about space and how this world and first life came about.
Since resigning from NASA, Dr. Jemison has received many awards for her historic journey into space. Some of these awards include numerous honorary doctorate degrees and an alternative public school in Detroit, Michigan named after her. Dr. Mae C. Jemison is currently a professor at Cornell
George Saunders has written several short stories; however, he has only two stories that have somewhat of the same context. “The Red Bow” and “Adams” were written after the tragedy of 9/11 and was about how the United States invaded Iraq. “The Red Bow” was published on the Esquire on August 20, 2009 and “Adams” was published in The New Yorker on August 9, 2004. With Saunders’ biography in writing these two stories fit right in, with their context, and with his thinking of the United States involvement in the world. George Saunders did not start his career as a writer of literature; as a result, he wanted to study the world of engineering.
One of the greatest space mission is the third mission to land on the Moon, Apollo 13. The Apollo 13 mission to the moon may have been the most miraculous event in history. Not only were the astronauts able to make it through any obstacle they faced, but they used their intellect in every situation. After getting through all the phases of getting through space, such as releasing certain parts of the shuttle and preparing their landing craft, they realize something’s wrong. Their oxygen tanks exploded!
The constellation I have chosen for this assignment is Leo Major. I 've chosen it mostly because of previous studies I have done on it. Leo, being one of twelve zodiacs, is located in between Cancer (to the west) and Virgo (to the east). Its name originates from the Latin root for "lion". The ancient Greeks represented it as the Nemean lion that was killed by Hercules as on of his "twelve labors".

Tyson served as a presidential advisor to President George W. Bush who in 2001 appointed him to a commission
With its years of existence, The United States had seen 31 Presidents who governed its citizens and created amendments and laws; however, in 1933, a man with different views and a different character than his predecessors, gave his citizens, who at one point had no hopes for the future, assurance of a better life. His name was Franklin Delano Roosevelt, a man born in Hyde Park destined to lead America through financial and foreign crises. Raised to the Presidency from just a position as a politician of the New York State Legislature, Roosevelt pledged to serve the citizens of the United States. His thirst for a better life created him into a workaholic, working all the way until bedtime (Smith 234). Franklin D. Roosevelt has a specific resonance
“Sir Ernest Shackleton was an Anglo-Irish Antarctic explorer, who made three expeditions to the continent, most famously in 1914 on the Endurance” (Sir Ernest Shackleton). The ‘founder’ of the Shackleton family was Abraham Shackleton. Abraham was a profound Quaker born in Kildare County, Ireland. The Shackleton family originated in the English country of the Yorkshire and consisted of pure Anglo-Irish blood.
“Mystery creates wonder and wonder is the basis of man's desire to understand.” Neil Armstrong answered his own quote by becoming the first person to land the moon and help advance space exploration. For this reason, Neil Armstrong is the most influential person of all time. He is influential for many reasons, some being how machines for space exploration are built, also because of his many achievements and accomplishments, and for how his life story. Neil Armstrong has become a very influential person because he made a big difference to how machines are built for space exploration.
Scientist, diplomat, and inventor are three elements that describe Benjamin Franklin. Many people know that Benjamin Franklin studied electricity, but he did so much more. As a well known diplomat, Ben Franklin, showed Americans that they should be freed from British rule by fighting for their freedom. He left a lasting legacy as a Revolutionary War hero, a founding father, and a great scientist. The origin of Benjamin Franklin started when he ran away from his family at the age of 17.
