Can works of fiction teach us anything useful? What can we gain from reading a work of literature that is not factual? Fictional works have been around for a very long time. Used in many ways, these help show, teach, and explain the world around us in intriguing manners. But, why exactly do we need fiction? Fables have been used around the world to spread morals, teach life lessons, and give opinions on matters through stories. These parables, for the longest time, were used as teaching tools to help children understand the way the world worked. They showed how their everyday lives should be led.
