The military did not work alone it was not all bombs and bullets, science and scientists from different countries played a very important role during World War II. Their research on weapons and atomic energy and medicine are what made this war all the more destructive.
Canada contributed greatly to the scientific research and technology of World War II. Canadian scientist found a way to protect ships from under water threats such as submarines. According to Veterans Affairs Canada “Extensive research on magnetism was

Mines were hidden underwater in attempts to attack and destroy enemy ships without them anticipating it, Mines were able to take out hundreds of U-boats or German submarines. If one country found a way to protect themselves then that meant that other counties had to find a way to get around it, the development of weapons and technology would continue to grow. Canadian scientist were also able to develop technology that would save ships from torpedo attacks. The Veterans Affairs Canada notes that “The Canadian Anti-Acoustic Torpedo (CAT) gear was developed as a counter-measure to enemy acoustic torpedoes. This invention is credited with saving many ships from torpedo attacks”. Research and technology continued to improve and become more sophisticated, counties formed allies and shared their findings so
