Software Engineering, CMMI, and ITIL
Successful IT development processes and a resilient supporting IT function are essential elements for great software engineering processes. Also, an important leadership concern is to examine the organization and analyze its current performance and capability to reach its set objectives. Occasionally, this type of assessment points towards looking at the individual processes and their accomplishment. In an effort to be more effective, organizations are putting into practice, The Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI), which is a process improvement model that can be tailored to solve any performance problem at any level of an organization in any industry (Moeller, 2010). The model offers guidelines …show more content…

Whenever the organizational performance is not at the expected level, and the assessment discloses processes are not in place to back the objectives, then a choice must be made on adopting ITIL and supporting the organization and its processes to the framework (Moeller, 2010). The sole purpose of this paper is to explain the software engineering procedure, the obstacles with managing software development activities, and the probable interface issues from the software development standpoint. This paper will also examine the CMMI levels and establish a roadmap that the organization will need to follow in an effort to get their software development procedures to CMMI level 3. Additionally, there is an explanation for the auditing tasks that must be performed in an effort to reach level 3 and determine the continuous assurance auditing actions that the organization will need to put in place in order to assist in the achievement of CMMI level 3. An analysis of the ITIL service management guidelines and principles will be explained and examine how the ITIL service management practices interact with CMMI …show more content…
