I dream of becoming a leader in the medical profession. In speaking with alumni and current faculty, I discovered that Rutgers has an outstanding reputation for providing academic excellence, and would provide a good match for my career goals. This university will provide a continuance of the solid foundation program which I have excelled in at Central Jersey College Prep Charter School. Your long history of preparing future doctors supports a proud legacy of successful and engaged alumni. I am interested in your 7-8 year program which involves research and transformative learning through hands-on evidence-based care and instruction. Working alongside experts from multiple disciplines will enable me to benefit from your collaborative environment promoting quality, developing character and confidence for an aspiring neurosurgeon or cardiologist.

Recent recognitions have been bestowed upon Chemist Darrin York-named New Jersey Professor of the Year in 2014; Molecular Biologist Dr. Chung S. Yang-- named to the 2015 list of highly cited researchers, receiving the Thomson Reuters Award for his contributions to the Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy; Dr. Helen M. Berman-- named to the International Society for Computational Biology (ISCB); and Dr. Brian L. Strom, Chancellor of Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences and Executive Vice President for health affairs for Rutgers, who received the Oscar B. Hunter Career Award in Therapeutics—both in 2016. If accepted into the class of 2021, I shall strive to contribute to your school’s greatness through my frequent contributions as an academic scholar and clinician in the pursuit of continued
