Moreover, I have attempted to live my life in the same manner. At an early age, I learned the importance of academic excellence, integrity, leadership, and community service. Being very goal orientated I have many goals for my future nursing career. One specific short term goal would be having the honor to get accepted into the one school I have always dreamed of attending, Allen College, to earn my Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree. Once I am accepted to a nursing program a goal I feel very strongly about is continuing to keep my grade point average at a 3.8 or higher level. I plan to accomplish this goal by completely applying myself and my time to my program, only letting my dedication for nursing continue to grow, and getting as involved as possible in my school and my learning. Most importantly, my short term goal is to obtain my Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree and get a job at The University of Iowa
I am always thinking about the future of my academics to achieve what I desire in this world. My plans for my academics would be to be a doctor of physical therapy and help athletes achieve their dreams through rehabilitation. I plan to have my academics lead me to my

Setting smaller goals is nice because they are like stepping stones to my bigger goals. The reason I am so motivated to go to college is because I have the opportunity to be the first in my family to attend college. Seeing my parents struggle with money because they can’t get a decent paying job is one of the reasons I desire to go to college. I know by going to college, and doing what I love, I will be able to enjoy what I’m doing while being able to have a improved life than I had experienced.
I strive to gain knowledge and achieve higher positions in my career. With this interest I have been rewarded throughout my school life. My goal is to become a college counselor. I want to guide students to their career paths, by helping them discover their own talents, self-interests, and limitations. With these tools, students will be able to utilize the resources around them. Also, I plan to give assistance to those students that are considered a minority and are the first generations going to college.
This semester will be my second at the University of Arizona, at 33 years old with a high school education, it is an understatement to say that it was fairly intimidating to be immersed in an academic community of fresh young minds straight out of high school. My strategy for this new chapter in my life has been to reflect on and use my past experiences for guidance and to have a clear set of goals that I continually draw upon for the motivation to keep pushing forward. The act of writing these goals down is not a new concept, in my previous career it was mandated that several times a year I would meet with a mentor and discuss and write down my personal and professional goals. I have continued this practice in my academic career.
What resonates with me and sets Bennington apart from other colleges is the FWT. It’s unheard of for a college to require their students to become invested in their careers long before they’ve begun, and within the fields they’ll be involved in for the rest of their lives. Because interning and working related to one’s career is only encouraged in college but not required, students overlook the importance of being actively involved with their futures from early on. Honestly speaking, I was of one of those students. I wouldn’t have been as open to doing as frequent and prolonged internships as Bennington requires, and this is mostly because balancing academics with my career hasn't come easy.
Academic Goal The academic goal I have set forth is to do my very best in all my courses only A’s and B’s. This way I will have increased my odds in being accepted into multiple nursing programs so I can take the right step in achieving my first career goal as an ER rn . I believe this is a realistic goal as long I apply myself and stay dedicated I know I can reach that goal.
College was always one of my long term goals as I continued with my education. Throughout the years I began to work harder and harder so I could secure my future. I knew that getting to college would not be easy. I am about to embark on a four year journey in one of the hardest fields to pursue. I will continue my education as a Nursing major at a four year university.
At this time in our very lives we are planning for the future and making a ladder for ourselves of goals to reach. As you climb higher on the ladder you find yourselves aspiring to take actions that may be more difficult than we imagined. This is just the beginning and we do not give up.
