INTRODUCTION The area of study of this research project is aimed at understanding the relationship between personality traits and its association with learning styles in academic settings. The study of personality traits has fascinated psychologists over the years, including individuals like Gordon Allport and Raymond Cattell, who mainly defined personality through different techniques, each attempt at defining personality culminated in multiple theories of personality and their types which are seen across all behavioral characteristics. Studies time and again have shown that personality traits greatly influence the most effective learning style for a student, and, it even influences the subjects one chooses to study (Fallan, 2006). Moreover, other studies have even shown the fact that in the past decades, research has shown that keeping the learning styles in line with the personality traits that one possesses would not only enhance the student’s academic performance but would make success more achievable (Abdullah, 2012). A study by Rashid et al (2012) revealed that there was a connection between agreeableness (personality trait) and assimilating (learning style). Kamalurzaman (2012) found out that accommodating style of learning suited the person with the extroverted personality type the most.
