Introduction This paper will analyze and compare the Egyptian Standing Figure of Osiris with Egyptian Mummy Coffin of Pedusiri, visual elements of Ancient and Medieval Art and Architecture works from the collection of the Milwaukee Art Museum. By comparing and contrasting these two works, we will be able to see the salient parts of each of them more clearly and can better understand the relationship between their periods, cultures, or artists. This comparison will also reveal how these two cultures view the human anatomy and human spirit in different ways.
This is important because all of the beads correlate and tell some history of the Luba people. In addition, all the characters are carved into the wood rather than attaching beads. In the unknown artwork, texture is present in the form of reliefs. The artist carved reliefs that represent characters on the board and they protrude off the board.
With this random bunch of objects we begin to learn history that the author is trying to convey. These objects give the reader the opportunity to learn about ancient Jerusalem giving background to the story the author begins to unveil. (Pun Intended)
