Origins of this Facility: In Morris Plains New Jersey the “Greystone Parks Psychiatric Hospital” is located. This facility goes as far back as 1876 in which this facility was operated from an older building and under different circumstances. Never-the-less this facility became over crowed, housing 7000 consumers and employing 14 000 staff members. During this period, patients were free to walk around the facility and patients who were in the “backward wards” were more symptomatic.
I am the Lead Case Manager at Pensacola Naval Hospital and I would like to recommend Miss Traci Allen for consideration into the United Navy Reserves as a commissioned officer in Navy Nurse Corps. Miss Allen possesses the qualities that are imperative in today’s Navy. Miss Allen demonstrated the ability to quickly assume the role of Nurse Case Manager from her previous role as Emergency Room Register Nurse. Miss Allen is responsible for the oversight of 8,000 enrollees managed at the Naval Hospital Family Medicine clinic, to include but not limited to active duty personnel, beneficiaries, and retirees. She works as an integrate member to the interdisciplinary team, ensuring and adhering to the highest standard of patient care in an ever changing health care environment.
Veterans Affairs Nurse What a blessing it is to have the United States Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Veterans Health Administration (VHA) providing multiple healthcare services to our heroes, our veterans! To be afforded the opportunity for our heroes to attend and be treated, at little to no cost, for a wide range of ailments from the common cold, to a mental health disability, or for the possibility of a healing surgery is a well-deserved and a wonderful privilege. One of the major demographics of care providers within the VHA is the registered nurse. There are over 51,000 registered nurses nationwide, with 60.7% of the total population of providers of healthcare, within the VA hospitals, VA outpatient clinics and VA Patient Care Medical Homes (VHA, Office of Nursing Services, 2012).
Management of Care Case Study Josepha is working on a medical surgical unit with three other RNs and one LPN. There is also a male and a female patient care tech. Josepha has been a nurse for four months, and after completing two months of orientation she takes a full assignment as a registered nurse. Josepha feels that the assignments she receives are not always fair, as she tends to get the most challenging clients.

The MEPN program prioritizes this, which aligns with my future goals in my own nursing practice. One of my key goals is to advance and deepen my skills in research to better confront issues affecting local, national, and global populations. Throughout my college career, I have immersed myself in diverse experiences to broaden my understanding of different perspectives and backgrounds. Serving as a Resident Assistant (RA) for the past three years has been a pivotal example. As an RA, I had the opportunity to interact with individuals from all backgrounds while managing many responsibilities.
Being a Cook Children’s nurse resident has been a dream of mine since I started nursing school. I feel that the nurse residency at Cook Children’s will aid in transitioning me from being a novice nurse to becoming a more confident and competent nurse. I wish to be a Cook Children/’s nurse resident because I want to take part in the preparation that is received to facilitate the shift that is needed to provide excellence in quality and safety in extraordinary care. In studying Registered Nursing one will find that they have to be compassionate and want to care for others. Registered Nurses assist physicians with suffering patients of any medical condition. They help to decide the patient’s medicine, treatment, recovery, and educate the them and their families on post-medical treatment. They need to have bedside manner, and be able to prepare patients for surgery. Registered Nursing careers range anywhere from critical care, oncology, mental health, to an everyday school nurse.
A career as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner is a natural extension of my personal, educational, and research experiences. Although my path to nursing has not been a straight line, every experience that put me on this path has shaped my passion and dedication to psychiatric nursing. After losing loved ones to suicide at a young age, I made a promise to myself and to them that I would dedicate my life to helping individuals struggling with mental illness. This promise led me to study Psychology at UC Berkeley, where I fell in love with clinical research investigating the efficacy of treatments for mental illness.
I am responsible for coordinating setting up modules for different complex nursing procedures for nurses reviews, informing nurses of upcoming educational conferences and posting articles pertaining to critical-care evidence based practice. All this education has provided me with the abilities, knowledge, strengths, work ethics to be a proud and efficient professional working in the competitive nursing field. The BSN program has provided me with new knowledge and new skills, that have helped me to evolve into a more competent and professional nurse with stronger nursing knowledge, ethics, and moral values. Each course that I took during the BSN program was a new opportunity to strengthen my knowledge, ability to do research, and critical thinking skills expanding my knowledge and making me feel confident of my abilities to work as an important part of an interdisciplinary team. Dr. Jola Massengale Worked as a Registered Nurse for over twenty years, and in 2011 she earned her doctorate in Nursing Health Administration. Short after her graduation, she was promoted to Chief of Nursing Research, and two years later, she became the Senior Chief Nurse Administrator/Health Research Analyst.
