Legacy Hospices missions statement is to affirm life and focus on the quality of life. Legacy Hospices consist of twenty-one offices located in seven states, including Alabama, Louisiana, Arkansas, Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, and Mississippi. Legacy Hospices provides care for people who are in their last stages of life. Hospices allow nurses, doctors, spiritual leaders, and rehab teams to stay and work with the patient so the family members can carry out their everyday lives. Hospices job is not to postpone deaths, but to prepare the family in every way possible for that time.
In the “Squatty Potty” infomercial, the ad makers are trying to convince the audience to buy their product by explaining to them how using it helps prevent health problems. In the beginning of the ad the prince shows us how the unicorn is going to teach us how to use the squatty potty and how the squatty potty is going to give us the poop of our lives. The ad makers carefully crafted logos and ethos appeals to give reasons and knowledge for their audience to buy their product. They also used humor and comic to make the audience watch and feel more comfortable thinking about the proses of pooping. The first thing the ad makers used to attract their audience is using pathos appeals through comedy.
Growing up in a Mexican household, the food we ate always had a spice to it. Whether the spice was on the side or already prepared in the food, my food always had a spice to it. My grandma’s favorite signature spice was her Pico De Gallo. Pico de Gallo also called salsa Fresca, is made from chopped tomato, onion, cilantro, fresh Serrano’s (jalapeños or habaneros are used as alternatives), salt, and key lime juice. At first I did not like Pico de Gallo because I couldn’t bear how spicy it was.

Meet my Jazz band. This is a picture of us in New Orleans my junior year during spring break to play Jazz. I decided upon this picture because this band has had such a profound impact on how I frame my future. Many people have the different thoughts about diversity in the world. There are three articles, written by three different people, that talk about the good and the bad about diversity. One of articles is “People Like Us”, David Brooks, which he stats that we segregate into our groups and that we stay in our comfort zones. Then he goes on saying that, with doing so we become narrow minded. Then another journal “Mongrel America”, Gregory Rodriguez, argues that the younger generations seem to be mixing more outside of their culture than the older generations.

Nike Sports Company made an astonishing advertisement that mixed the meanings of rhetoric with a sense of humor to make an advertisement that hooked the audience and filled them with inspiration. The smart use of logos, pathos, and ethos by showing actual people wining prizes, a commentary that motivate the commercial figures, and real professional players from different sports made the short video special and unique. The video demonstrates that it is only a blink of an eye between being born and becoming a champion, and that we can push our limits beyond expectations.

The past year I have seen how much of a big difference hospice makes. I have seen how patients and their families become attached to their hospice team. I have witnessed all hospice team members working together to be supportive to families when their loved one has passed. I never knew how much of a difference hospice can make until my time at Homestead. I saw how the entire hospice team cared for each and every patient and wanted to make the patient’s last days the best they could possibly be.

Psychosocially a patient and family need time to understand and accept the diagnosis.
