In recent times, there has been an abundance of conspiracy theories that cover a variety of subjects such as the September 11th terrorist attacks as well as the possibility of reality being merely a simulation. Some of these theories are completely absurd, while others stick in the back of our minds and have us constantly asking ourselves, "What if?" These theories constantly challenge our understanding of reality and lead us to change our views of the world around us. Of these theories is one that has truly caught my attention. Light-years away from us, there exists a mysterious planet populated by intelligent cats. On this planet, nicknamed FE-12914-5, cats have many of the same social skills humans do such as verbal and nonverbal communication and the use of different languages. With the help of a glorious and powerful spacecraft, Earth's first cats made contact with their new world in an area known today as Egypt. Now known as the Great Sphinx of Giza, the spaceship has remained stationary for thousands of years. The Egyptians stared in awe in disbelief as the "gods" descended from the heavens, and, as a result of this misunderstanding, the Egyptians treated and praised the cats as if they were gods. The new feline inhabitants ruled and lived alongside their human companions as powerful deities. Soon, with the help of cat technology, massive temples were built, as a gift to the cats to act as homes and places of worship; now known as the pyramids. The Egyptians must have had extraterrestrial help due to the super-human requirements to erect such architectural marvels. After thousands of years of reigning over ancient Egypt, the cats had ultimately decided to move on to inhabit other areas of the world, cease communication with mankind, and fade into normality as much as possible. The largest example being found in recent internet culture in the form of memes. Around 2005, internet users on the website 4Chan began posting pictures of cats with humorous text on the pictures. This internet trend caught on very soon, and thus the internet's obsession with cats began. The meme, named "LOLCats," began to thrive on almost every social site from YouTube to Tumblr. Society was once again obsessed with these fantastic felines. It is unknown whether this internet obsession had any ties with the poop parasite, but this sensation is definitely evidence of the dominance of cats that has lasted all these millennia. Despite how long it has been since their reign over Egypt, cats seem to never forget how important they once were. Domesticated cats seem to have a certain personality trait about them that makes them act snobbish around all other family members of a household, pet or not.
