DBQ Essay The Seven Years’ War in the American colonies was caused by constant, violent encounters between England and France. The conflicts eventually reached the British American colonies and the war lasted in the colonies from 1754-1763. When the war came to a close, the British Empire began to increase their presence in the American colonies. Also, as a result of the war with France, the British was crippled with war debt.
The French and Indian War, also known as the Seven Years War, was the fourth and final war between The French and The British. The war took place in 1754 and ended in 1763, actually making it a nine year war. The War started when the French attempted to claim the land between the Allegheny and Ohio Rivers and that sparked a fuse with the Virginia governor. To warn the French, the governor sent a lieutenant named George Washington, when he went to relay the message the French refused to cooperate and that left the British no choice but to get prepared to battle. The only way that the war ended in 1763 was because of the Treaty of Paris.

It is our opinion that the event that most significant role in causing the revolutionary war was the French and Indian war because, during our research we found that the French and Indian war was the cause of a American revolution because of disputes over subsequent frontier policy and paying the war’s expenses led to colonial discontent. There was more causes than just the French and Indian war it was all the taxes from the stamp act as well as the sugar act that put a large amount of taxes that the british tried to collect taxes that the american people considered harsh, and what led to the revolutionary war. The cause of the sugar act is protests against the sugar Act developed it was the economic impact rather the constitutional issue

For two centuries, the colonist lived under British ruled with no problem. Eventually the British began changing how the colonist were living. So they decided to fight back. There was a lot of events that lead up to the American Revolutionary war but the main event that happened was Taxation without Representation. This event also led further into The Boston Tea Party.
We may be used to all the freedoms and opportunities we have in the United States today, but that was not always the case. It wasn’t until 1776 until America had finally earned its independence from the British. With colonist gaining frustration and anger from their treatment from Great Britain, they eventually seeked their own independence to govern themselves.
