World War II developed out of unresolved problems that connected to The Great War (Pollard, E., 2015). The causes, key battles, and outcomes of World War II in Europe began with the Germany’s invasion of Poland, along with the British and French decision to oppose it. “Nazi troops overran Poland, France, Norway, Denmark, Luxembourg, Belgium, and Holland,” (Pollard, E., 2015). During this time, the Germans were able to control all of Europe. In 1939, Germany signed a nonaggression pact with the Soviets, but a few years later the Germans broke the pact and invaded the Soviet Union.
