The Age of Revolution “It is time, at last, to speak the truth about the American Revolution, and the truth is this”. The American Revolution, the battle for independence American colonies undertook against Britain, gave birth to the nation and the world we know nowadays. It is an important and meaningful event that has a variety of names and denominations, such as The Great Rebellion, The War for Independence, The American Rebellion, The Colonial Uprising, The Great American Rebellion, and The Revolutionary War. This powerful, historical event was caused primarily by the Boston Tea Party. As a result, the Intolerable Acts, the First and Second Continental Congress were created. The British were imposing American colonies to pay higher taxes for every printed document and several other basic needs. Native people of the colonies were demanding an autonomy from such injustice and abuse. Regarding this issue, a group of protestants known as the “Sons of Liberty” drained all tea from a ship into the water. This was one of the first acts of protest and became known as the Boston Tea Party. As a punishment for the Boston Tea Party, the British king along with the parliament, established the “Intolerable Acts—one of the major causes of the American Revolution. For these reasons, colonies decided that something must be done. The First and Second Continental Congress were created. Delegates from the Congress, argued whether they should separate from Britain.
