After, watching and reviewing the video, “The day pictures were born” I discovered that artist we’re recording there life through paintings on cave walls, and rocks. Altamira, Chauvet, and Lascaux are some of the cave walls displaying the art. The art work on the walls of the cave walls displayed the following animal: Aurochs (Ox). This art work was discovered in the Altamira cave around 35,000 years ago (creative explosion), by the following archeologists Marcelino Sanz de Sautuola, and his daughter, Maria. Marcelino hypnosis and conclusion of the caves art work was dated as pre-historic. Marcelino then spoke to the general public about his findings and the cave was opened for viewing. Some of the images artist paint today are: scenery pictures, to paintings of different people in today society. During the Creative explosion around 35,000 years ago artists depicted hunting scenes mainly of animals.
For example, Heneri Breuil hypothesize of the paintings on the cave walls were of: horses, reindeer and bison these animals were painted during rituals and these rituals, meant the tribe would have a victorious hunt. The paintings on the cave walls recorded the animals the tribe found in that area. The paintings were located in far away, hard to reach places on the cave walls. I believe the tribes did this to keep the other tribes from finding out the location of the animals during that time.
Years ago in the Mountains of South Africa, the paintings were created by san “bush man” in rituals. The Sans tribal members mind were in a trance like state of mind in the spirt world. During this trance state and ritual the San people created images of Elands. The Eland animals are antelope and these animals are displayed on cave walls during this
