Goal 1: Building a positive relationship with children in the center.
Working in the early childhood industry, having the good relationships with all children in the center specially in your room is one of the most important things that any educator has to create if they want to work with children. Following the AITSL standard 1 suggest that educator must acknowledge all children in the room and how they learn. Developing relationship with each child in the room is the key for an educator working in the room. Every center has their own policy which guide all educators in the center doing the same thing for children. The way educator set up the activities for children will affect directly to children’s learning. There are many ways to engage children to join the activities and also have many ways to teach children while doing the activities. I believe that each teaching strategies has their own benefit for the students. However, at the young age if we use many different ways in teaching will make children feel lost and confused. Therefore, educator must have to find the teaching strategies which will keep their students motivated and engaged. Observing children is also important part in early childhood education. From the observation teacher can have a basic knowledge about the child. According to children’s interest, their strength and weakness educator can set up the activities for group of children or individual child to extend their skills and knowledge. Moreover, getting to know how other educator in the room doing will help me to support them also easier for me to create the activities for children in the future. In addition, by observing educators work I can learn how they organize of the content and the way they delivery of learning and teaching program throughout daily activities for children. Also need to listen to children’s response to see that are they like this learning style so we will keep doing that teaching strategies or change to another strategy. As the AITLS point out, educator need to know the content and how to teach it. Understanding the programming which currently other educator use for extend children knowledge so I can create some activities for children.
