Censorship is everywhere in China. But actually, nobody cares about the censorship itself. In other words, people are used to it. Not only in China, every country has to takes the advantage of censorship in order to secure the society. So, how does censorship affect the society as a whole?

What is the censorship to the society? I have to make a metaphor here to compare the censorship with sweeping the dirt. Dirt under the rug or the bed always exits. We don’t see it, but we know it’s there. We do not want the guests to know, and even we hope we forget dirt ourselves. It is just like the censorship. Even more, most of people would rather completely ignore the dirt than simply sweeping dirt under the rug every day. That is what a government always does. In my view, China is still in a relatively non-stable status. However, for Chinese citizens, they are more likely to hope their country more stable, more developed than other countries. But it is not possible for such a developing country to catch up with other developed country. What the Chinese government does is trying to hide some facts. And the responses are, for example, people are doing what they should do, although some still complain about their government. But the truth is the government is still the Chinese Party and nobody wants to be at open defiance with the government and people are living a relatively good life. I would like to take the example with North Korean government, yet they take the censorship in most cases, which I suppose it is a government using censorship most frequently.
