“Censorship is the suppression or prohibition of any parts of books, films, news, etc. that are considered obscene, politically unacceptable, or a threat to security” (Marten). Even though people have the right to know what is going on in today’s society it is safer to keep things censored from them, because if it is not people can get hurt emotionally, or physically. Uncensoring things can lead to riots, gangs, drugs, and it doesn't stop there. If society is shown things uncensored gangs and riots would be worse than what they are; therefore society would plummet. Even though, numerous people disagree with censorship it can have a positive effect on children by protecting them from being exposed to negative influences, by helping to control panic and fear, and protect national security. …show more content…

“90% of children ages 8-16 have seen online pornagraphy” (“Internet Statistics | GuardChild”). Children’s brains aren’t developed yet to understand what is happening in the videos that aren’t censored that they are finding to watch. When children are exposed to images at a young age it can effect them as they grow up, in a negative way. Children may become violent because they misunderstand the images, and words that they exposed to. “65% of 8-14 year olds have been involved in a cyberbullying incident” (“Internet Statistics | GuardChild”). Children involved in cyberbullying get hurt emotionally, and even think the only way to fix it was is to take their own life.
