The theme of family and kinship is very prevalent in Chapter 1 of “Frankenstein”. Victor’s childhood is idyllic and ideal. “No youth could have passed more happily than mine. My parents were indulgent, and my companions amiable.” The comfort and warmth of Frankenstein’s family is powerful, even though it's only the first chapter.
I reaped the rewards of this as much as possible in middle school as I made many new friends by participating in sports and ASB. I remember as my eighth grade year came to a conclusion about how excited I was to continue playing sports and as a result, make new friends throughout my upcoming four years of high school. This all came to a drastic halt when my parents no longer allowed me to participate in football due to the increased physical competition and subsequent unsafe nature of the high school game, and when I was cut from the freshman basketball team. For the first time in my life, I had found myself unable to participate in the activities that had my brought me happiness and academic motivation. For a while, I lost all motivation to participate in my school and as a result, I didn’t participate in any extracurriculars and lost my perfectionist goal of achieving a 4.0 my freshman year.
My choice of a future in the Human Resources Industry came from my meticulous skills in organization and planning as well as my leadership abilities. I have devoted a large amount of my high school career practicing these traits as a Social officer of the Deer Park High School’s Deer Escorts. My course load, including three college-credited classes, and commanding role on my drill team has taught me the necessary characteristics of punctuality, self-discipline and notability needed to function not only in the continuation of education but also in my career path. Although I remain a high school student, I have acquired the feel of college and the essentials needed to be successful through the three dual-credit classes I have engaged in, in the duration of my junior and senior year of high school. I feel as though these classes differ from high school courses because they are more rigorous and require one to be self-disciplined and prompt with their
Even through all of the trials and tribulations of trying to make it through high school, I still decided to continue my education. I have pushed on and tried my very best to go on with schooling with what I was taught and what I have had to teach myself. Throughout high school I had to work on my school work around my parents schedule due to the fact that they work shift work and I have to watch my two younger siblings. Not much has changed in that aspect of life, I still have to work around my parents schedule and watch my little siblings while working a full time job. Something that has helped me to get through both high school and this first semester of college is that I do my very best to figure out how to do assignments on my own and was always willing to ask for help when I couldn't grasp how to do something on
I was so excited to begin high school and attend the same school my father and uncles had attended. But, the beginning of my high school career was very difficult and challenging for me. In the beginning of my freshman year, I had a very hard time finding a group of friends that I could trust. The idea of popularity drowned me when I entered high school and I began to loose myself. I had a hard time focusing on my studies and this caused my grades to plummet.
Through the experience of working as youth leader for freshman connection I have grown as a better leader. To help incoming freshman was incredible experience for me. I joined freshman connection to serve school and defiantly to get knowledge and team building skills out of it, so that it can help me make my college experience better. I think I have achieved all the goals that I wanted to through working as youth leader. Additionally, not only that but also to work on community service project on bullying has really allowed me to serve as teacher helper.
High school is one of the greatest pivotal times in a human's life. It is where young adults are able to form their own opinions on the world, find activities they are passionate about, and learn to create fruitful relationships with their peers and teachers. However, I did not initially view high school as a period of time for growth and development. Instead, I saw it simply as another task to complete before I entered the real world. I did not take advantage of all the opportunities around me and I began to find school to be institutionalized or meaningless.
In my four years of high school, I have been very active in everything the school has to offer. I have filled up my after school hours playing sports, performing in plays and choral concerts, and working at the school to help teach the younger generations Language Arts. During my summers, I volunteer at summer school to assist in the math classes for middle school and high schoolers while I also have a job being a lifeguard. Basketball, softball, and golf are the sports that I’ve played over my high school career. I’ve participated in four years of basketball and softball, and three years in golf.
High School Graduation The beginning of the Highs School year,was a new experience for me,because of begin alone in the school without knowing nobody, not knowing the language and have zero knowledge of the academic level i need it to have in order to graduate, on the mid senior year of high school,i got a call from the counselor Mr.Calume,he told me that, in order to graduate i need it to pass 4 states exams that can be only due 2 times per year semester,and i was in my last semester of high school,so the chances of me passing those test were low for me. There for, i meet some olds friends from when i was a child from my country (Venezuela) they have move to the same school i me,so they reached me some tips and trick to pass
The transition from middle school to high school was a big change for me. The 3 reasons why the transition was a big change for me was because I don't have classes with my friends, I don't have effective teachers, and my curfew was extended when I entered high school. Having to adapt to this change has been hard for me, but slowly I am getting used to it. Having different classes from my friends is one of the reasons why the transition from middle school to high school was a big change for me. For example, in middle school, I had all my class with my best friends.

Again, although most families manage the transition well, it is quite common that they experience difficulties along the way.
The transition from Primary school to Post-Primary school is a difficult time for anyone involved. It is one of the most drastic changes that students will ever encounter in the educational career. The transition is typically filled with anticipation and anxiety about homework, teachers, peers, academic rigor, school rules, getting lost, and many more factors. For the typical student, it is a whirlwind of emotion and anxiety. For students with special needs, these worries become even more prominent for the pupils and their parents.
The past four years of my life hold both my highest of highs and my lowest of lows. High school can be a very awkward time period in a person’s life. Four years ago, I made the intimidating switch from St. Mary’s School to Algoma High School. There were certain aspects of high school which made me nervous, but academics was not one of them. I learned how to be a responsible student in my earlier years, and school had always come relatively easy to me.
My educational journey has been an experience I will remember. I have attended school in three different countries, Antigua, St. Thomas, and New York. A diverse educational experience has allowed me to interact with many different cultures and confront many of the different topics we discussed in class. At that time however, I was not fully aware of the implications of certain situation but after many readings I can now fully understand many of the experiences I encountered in my journey. All the information I have learned in this class however will bring all my experience together where I can make much more sense of it than I could when I was younger.
High school grows you into the person you are. I have great memories, good and bad, some learning experiences and some that I’ll take with me the rest of my life. My high school experience has influenced my development as a person inside and outside of the class by making me more independent, choosing friends wisely and teachers motivating me to attend college and accomplish goals I have set for myself. I have gained my independence slowly throughout high school. The importance of being independent is being secure with who you are and what you believe in.
