An American politician and actor who served as the 40th President of the United States from 1981 to 1989, known as Ronald Reagan delivered an iconic speech, “The Space Shuttle “Challenger” Tragedy Address” which is about the mourning and remembering of the seven astronauts that died in a terrible accident on the ground. Throughout the text, the author emphasizes multiple strategies to persuade Americans, indeed to bring them in to have faith in the NASA Program and solutions to said problems. Reagan focus attention on gaining hope and belief for the audience to take away after hearing about the disaster of the space program. Reagan assumed that individuals felt that this act exhibit, “a truly national lose” (1). On the other hand,it creates a bond between the audience and Reagan because it shows how much he and the American people value the lives that were lost. Also to get the audience involved with the condition that america is addressing on this day. With power and determination in his voice, Reagan uttered, “ Challenger Seven aware of danger” (3).Reject the facts the seven lives were on the line, this was still the life the astronauts wanted to live and pursue. In addition, Reagan uses this statement to show that the space program wasn’t completely confident in their work and every time an astronaut's gets in that shuttle it's a life or death situation.
