Every character in "Unwind' grows from the beginning of the story to the end. There are many characters that change and out of all of them Connor has grown up from the start of the novel to the end. Connor's individual experiences, and different relationships, changes him for better. In the beginning of the book Connor was very hot headed and getting into fights school. He wasn't thinking when he was doing the things that would get him in trouble. He would just fight people just to fight them or with his parents. It started to get worse because one day he came home and was going into his parents things and saw 3 tickets. He was confused because there is 4 people in his family. Then right after that he found the unwound papers so he ran away from his home. At this part of the book Connor was still very hot headed so he was even more mad than he is most of the time. He was so mad he ran away from his home not really thinking about what’s going to happen to him in the outside world. Risa was a major part in Connor's life after he met her. This is because when he wanted to fight Roland in antique shop. He had to take a couple minutes to get his anger to go back down. While he was doing that Risa was talking to him making him less mad. He worked will so that Connor started to have self-control and he was learning how to do better. Another way Connor was controlling himself is when Roland put his hands on Risa and Connor did nothing because Risa told him not to over react to things. When he didn't do anything about it she got really mad at Connor for not helping her and Connor was so confused because he didn't do anything be was trying to think before he does
