Sometimes people change, and sometimes it’s a little change and other times it’s a big change. In the book, The Giver by Lois Lowry, Jones was just a regular eleven in his community, and he would never break the rules until he had become the receiver. On page 111 it states in the text, “He was not yet qualified to be a Giver himself; nor had gabriel been selected to be a receiver. That he had this power frightened him. He decided to not tell.” Although we thought Jonas is a rule follower he had changed. He made the decision to not tell. Jones is allowed to not tell but we never that he would that because he used to do what he was told and he was follow the rules.
